Actually i think turtle shell is much better due to % bonus armor, which is important in rift. When you have - armor, turtle back item helps negate it to an extent. Regular armor boost like from falliage and keg are just useless at - 100% armor.
As for rubies, i figured some time ago neck item is by far the best investment, and at the time, lvl 50 gear was introduced, and still lvl 45 neck item was best buy. Now with new stuff around, i believe it's still the best buy lol. And it might just remain so. It gives dmg per attack and 15% ms, and only new contract ring has similar, very good qualities. I think it's better than new neck item, but some people might prove me wrong due to 7% disc bonus - at any rate, you're far from lvl 53 when you can acquire it, and if you happen to find lvl 45 epic weapon drop, i'd suggest you remain at lvl 45 as long as possible because of sharding.
This all may seem a bit off topic, but i believe you're trying to figure what to do next Chail, so i hope i helped a bit.

Well, I literally just took blue kabuki over rubies (I had green). This was on advice from some other veteran players. Move speed is necessary for one thing: SHARDING. Move speed helps you shard better because you move through the levels faster. However, if I really needed the rubies, I would have probably taken them. I don't farm rift floors where the damage cap takes place, so armor always helps. It also helps in PvP; anything can help, especially with the rift cape to boost armor.

Chail, on which floor do you rift? Without bonus speed, isn't it to difficult? Personally, I felt in love with the legendary cape, but despite a lot of prayers, I never managed to get it (neither the black cape). So, one day, I picked up the pinky one and I don't regret it: I gain 5 floors in rift and even if it's not the best cape and I would change it if I get a better crate, it still helps a lot. Blue Kabuki is better than Four Path, in my opinion. However, you may take the rubies in order to get the item neck at level 45, as Fartuditu says. But it's 130 rubies. I don't know how many you have. It's a choice to make. I made a mistake of selling turtle shell - now when i need to remove cape i can only place sasquish backpack, and while dmg is nice to have, in rift armor is more important, in situation when speed is limiting factor. At level 47, you can get Keg and now at level 53 the Falliage Cape, which are better than turtle shell. I'm on 27. Well... I'm not feeling it too stressing... but may be it will be much easier... Except the Moonwalk cases Keep Four Paths for the case of Moonwalk? [I'm lazy to switch]
Pinky Cape is good, I would not doubt if I was close to 45 currently. Guess there are still 3-4 seasons till that.
I have 59 rubies and it is not so close to 130 as I would want
Ergo: still in doubt...
Offtopic and nitpicking: Keg and Falliage Cape... Aren't there any tanks with 1000-1300+ armor? Turtle shell will give them more armor then Keg does.

Tanks with more than 1000 armor are rare for the moment. You may have to use a shield and/or wear a warrior ruby set (personally, I'm "only" 788). Look, Potatoes, with the best monk's gear ever, reaches only 610: kong.cloudstonegame.com/main/CharacterViewer?uid=178423So it will take a very long time until Turtle Shell becomes stronger than Keg in a normal situation.

1st part: yes 2nd part: Get the rubies and save up 3rd part: Warrior ruby set with shield will get above 1000, but usually that's STILL not above the damage cap wiki.cloudstonegame.com/index.php/Armor. Once you get to level 50, you still need unreachable amounts of armor to get above the cap.

Primary report: lvl 27 became noticeably easier. Armor gain is almost immaterial (0-1% of damage reduction depending on curses); discipline and crit hit loss - affordable; will just need to shard a bit. Thanks to all who contributed! Your advices will not be lost - anything that gets into the Web, stays in the Web. Short-term plan: get back 11 Disc and go to lvl 31.

Final resolution: the Blue Kabuki is a worthy investment. Lvl 31 became approximately the same complexity as lvl 27. At least there is a _level of comfort_. When switching to the Four Paths for Moonwalk I feel a difference. Thanks to all; guess the topic can be closed. See you next Rift end
